Commercial Description:
A creamy, flavorful Amber that's smooth and easy to drink. Drop Top is fermented by an American Ale yeast to produce beer with a clean flavor and fruity aroma. The velvet texture is from the use of Honey malt and a touch of milk sugar. The Magnum bittering hops provide soft bitterness, while Simcoe, a newly developed hop variety, adds unique hop flavor and aroma.

On-tap at Typhoon Saloon in PB. Pours a vibrant amber color with a crisp white head that leaves just spots of lace. I don’t smell anything. Tastes light and caramelly malty sweet, lingering sugar flavors. Medium, weak body, coats the mouth a bit, subdued carbonation

Light amber in color with a low head. A pleasing aroma that has some malts and hops. Flavor has not much dominance with again some hops and malts.

Pours light brown with a medium off-white head. Nut brown malt aroma with a hint of hops. Strong hoppy flavor with a little spice. A little sweet, it’s kind of a heavy beer. Overall, hoppy and sweet. Smooth flavor a little thick on the finish.

On tap, I was pleasantly surprised to find this in a so-so bar in a Mexican restaurant. I liked it, good sweet flavor and very easy to drink a lot of. Wouldn’t buy again unless I was at the same restaurant and it was my only choice.

I like a lot of the Widmer brews, but this is not one of them. It pours a medium amber color with thin head. The aroma is undistinguished and the flavor is, unfortunately, reminiscent of mainstream, big-name industrial brews. Come on, Widmer Brothers, you can do better than this!

Amber color caramel notes in the aroma and the taste. Mouth fell was slightly creamy (a little odd)

12oz bottle. pours semi hazy amber-golden with thin white head around the rim. nose is a surprisingly somewhat big citrusy and grassy hop nose along with some toasted biscuit right behind it. flavor is citrus, honey dew melon, copper, muted toffee and biscuit. an odd flavor. watery and undercabonated. not the worst amber but its barely drinkable.
