Commercial Description:
A creamy, flavorful Amber that's smooth and easy to drink. Drop Top is fermented by an American Ale yeast to produce beer with a clean flavor and fruity aroma. The velvet texture is from the use of Honey malt and a touch of milk sugar. The Magnum bittering hops provide soft bitterness, while Simcoe, a newly developed hop variety, adds unique hop flavor and aroma.

Pours transparent reddish amber. Aroma is nondescript -- pretty plain. Malty but not too sweet. Smooth finish, somewhat watery. Not my favorite, but OK.

From bottle. Poured amber with little, quick dissolving head. First taste of apricots (!?). Nice start with a dissappointing, watery finish. Overall not bad. A good "lawnmower" beer.

Bottle. Poured amber with white head. Malty aroma. Some sugar and hops in the flavour, but the body is fairly watery. A moderately pleasing finish, sort of hoppy, but without much interest. This is again, a thoroughly ordinary bottle of beer.

Very watery initial taste followed by an unpleasant bitter feeling on my tongue. Overall not a beer I would drink often.

Bottle - Poured a brownish amber in color with a small tan head. Aroma is malty and sweet with a small amount of hops showing through. Not strongly flavored. Hops show through briefly at the end and produce a mildly bitter finish. OK, but a bit disappointing...

This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent typically carbonated golden brown colored body. The mild aroma was malty. The mouth feel was weakly tingly at the start and at the finish. The mild flavor contained notes of malt hops and sweet. A decent one but not one that I would consider buying again.

On draught at Norm’s in Seattle. Aroma is an even malt/hop balance with light citrus and caramel. Appearance is light copper with a medium retention off-white head. Flavor is a malt/hop blend forward followed by caramel, citrus, and medium bittering hops. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a med/high carb feel and dry finish. Overall, a lot better than I remember from earlier tastings, with good sweetness versus other examples of the style.
