Commercial Description:
A creamy, flavorful Amber that's smooth and easy to drink. Drop Top is fermented by an American Ale yeast to produce beer with a clean flavor and fruity aroma. The velvet texture is from the use of Honey malt and a touch of milk sugar. The Magnum bittering hops provide soft bitterness, while Simcoe, a newly developed hop variety, adds unique hop flavor and aroma.

Bottle. Light golden/amber color. Light head. Flavor contains citrus, bread, honey and caramel. Decent.

Yeasty aroma with a clear gold look. Light taste and good finish. Not a big fan of Ambers but this is one I favor.

Straight out of the bottle. Smells and tastes sweet-but artificial, like it has some weird amalgam of additives. Hmmm, not too much bitterness, just a moderate hoppy taste. Pretty average.

Certainly below average. Expected more from Widmers but this really lacked any goodness. Hops were very weak and seemed stale. Wouldnt try again and a big disappointment after their wheat beer.

I have had this in bottle and tap and I would have have to say the tap was significantly better. Very sweet honey flavor, smooth, very easy to drink not bitter at all.

A bit watery for an amber ale. Not much malt backing it up. Not balanced. Not good.

Bottle. Bit of a yeasty smell. Nice enough amber color under a white head with some lace.Taste is kind of, just, there, sitting around. A slight creaminess to the malts, hops are just a blur in the background. This is relatively low in alcohol from what we’re used to drinking, but this needs just a slight kick of flavor.
