Commercial Description:
A creamy, flavorful Amber that's smooth and easy to drink. Drop Top is fermented by an American Ale yeast to produce beer with a clean flavor and fruity aroma. The velvet texture is from the use of Honey malt and a touch of milk sugar. The Magnum bittering hops provide soft bitterness, while Simcoe, a newly developed hop variety, adds unique hop flavor and aroma.

A pretty decent amber. Pour is clear amber with small white head. Aroma of caramel and citrus. Flavor is nice and refreshing, sweet citrus, caramel, honey, and a little bit of breadiness.

12oz bottle acquired in trade with cbkschubert (thanks!). Poured a medium oranged color with a smaller sized off white head. Had a light haze to it as well. Aromas of honey comb, citrus, and light caramel. Tastes of caramel, honey, citrus, and a little toasty. Thinner body.

Slightly hazy dull amber with little head. Very malty old stale ale aroma with a note of honey. Watery body though quite sweet. Mild citrus and spice hop flavor complimented by big malt. Balanced but boring.

On draft at the Yardhouse in Phoenix, served with a typical amber ale appearance, nice lacing the highlight. The aroma was citrus hops, earthiness, fruity, bready. The flavor followed the aroma but with nutty aspects also present. Pretty crisp and refreshing, full mouthfeel, a nicely balanced amber on draft. I didn’t like Widmer’s hefe, but this one works for me!

Bottled (bottle says Aug2906).
Clear amber color and quickly vanishing white head. Honey, grapefruit, lemony hops in the nose - not very common aroma. Palate is quite weak. Light bready malty with flavors of honey. Sweetish finish with tiny hoppy punch in the aftertaste. Interesting different Amber ale.

LIght malty aroma. LIght amber color, with a decent tannish head. Starts with a lightly sweet malt flavor, less sweet malt settles on the tongue. Some bitterness finally arrives to finish this. Carbonation is relatively mild.
