Commercial Description:
A creamy, flavorful Amber that's smooth and easy to drink. Drop Top is fermented by an American Ale yeast to produce beer with a clean flavor and fruity aroma. The velvet texture is from the use of Honey malt and a touch of milk sugar. The Magnum bittering hops provide soft bitterness, while Simcoe, a newly developed hop variety, adds unique hop flavor and aroma.

(Bottle) Pours a clear amber with an average-sized off-white head. Aroma of citrus and light tart apple. Flavor of malt and mild hops with soapiness in the finish.

Mashed pumpkin and fruit and malt in the aroma. Amber colored with a thin bubble head. Strong caramel flavors and somewhat grainy with a touch of hop bitterness in the finish. I thought this was much netter than its current rating.

Bottle: This brew pours a cloudy amber with light malt aromas. It has sweet tastes of wheat mixed with soap and musty cardboard. It is slightly thin and has average carbonation. When it is all said and done -- there just isn’t much flavor in this one. It should have been called Drop Bottom.

Draft Red Lion Richland, WA. Pretty basic. Better than the average beer in a hotel, but they actually have better selections here. Typical amber color with a decent head. Aromas were limited, and the flavors were just a little malty and not much hops to speak of. Forgettable.

Tap. A boring amber ale in the boring world of boring amber ales. Nothing distinctive, perhaps sweeter than others. Plain boring.

Nice amber color with a thin off white head. Light vegatal aroma. Flavor is a hint of honey, a light fruityness and a soft bitter finish. Thin palate. I’ve had better.
