Commercial Description:
A creamy, flavorful Amber that's smooth and easy to drink. Drop Top is fermented by an American Ale yeast to produce beer with a clean flavor and fruity aroma. The velvet texture is from the use of Honey malt and a touch of milk sugar. The Magnum bittering hops provide soft bitterness, while Simcoe, a newly developed hop variety, adds unique hop flavor and aroma.

The aroma has citrus hops, caramel, and a touch of yeasty bread and nuts. The appearance is amber with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma with a malty finish. The palate is average. Overall an enjoyable but somewhat unremarkable beer.

Bottle. Slightly sweet malty fruit aroma. Amber body, small head. Mild fruity flavor, with a nice malt finish. A highly drinkable session beer.

Clear amber coloured body with a thinnish white head. Aroma of malt and just about nothing else. Medium-bodied; Funky taste with nothing good coming through the cracks. Aftertaste shows a lot of malt and cardboard - that’s it. Overall, bad and not very pleasant at all! I sampled this beer on draught at Kelly’s in Portland, Oregon on 09-September-2006.

Appearance: Pours a clear, dark amber body with a creamy-looking, white head. Smell: Standard barley scent then some silken, sweet-smelling globs of caramel sauce find their way into the mix, then some slight notes of hand-picked fruit. Taste: Toasted pale and caramel maltiness with an unquestionable candy-like sweetness present. Touch of Bing cherry fruitiness. The added milk sugar, though hardly appreciable, is appreciated. Fairly restrained hop flavor and imparted bitterness, but it’s really not much of a surprise being predicated by a lack of hops in the nose. For all its initial sweetness, the beer still manages to finish dry. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: Not a bad amber, really, provided you don’t mind your amber ale being well into the sweet side of the beer spectrum. Paired well with trying to shove a bar’s touchscreen video game out of my face. Maybe some other time, Photo Hunt!

Good taste, with a hint of fruit, perhaps apple. The fruit taste wasn’t overwhelming at all, it was well balanced. This was a tasty beer.

12oz bottle from The Wine Rack in Midland, TX. Pours clear amber with a white head. Aroma is malt and a touch of citrus. Flavor is malt and touch of hops. Mouthfeel is watery. Boring ale.

It’s an entirely ’meh’ beer, but a solid one. A hint of cherry and malts, which is very nice once warmed up a little.

~Pours a clear amber with creamy off white head. ~Citrusy malt scent along with some other kind of berry. ~Smooth citrus malt taste. ~Medium creamy feel. Smooth. Slightly bitter citrus in finish. ~I am fairly surprised with this brew. Enjoyable. Good session brew.
