I’m ticked. I picked up a sixpack of the W’05 and some bastid stuck one of these in there.
Full disclosure; I’m not a big Amber fan, but this is just crap.
Aroma isn’t typical, it smells more like a Macro like Bud than anything else. Appearance is like a darker Macro. Flavor is pretty much characterless with hints of corn, but no typical Amber sweetness. Palate is...well, you get the picture. Overall? HA! Widmer *can* make some good beers, however, with the very notable exception of the W’05, they don’t bottle anything worthwhile. I want my money back.

Oct 11, 2008 12oz. bottle. Clear amber with a lasting head. Spruce and dough aroma, with a hint of brown sugar. Minty, sprucy flavor, with moderately caramely malt flavors. Clean, medium-light body. More drinkable than their oktoberfest ale, but quite similar in character.

Sep 29, 2008 Ok beer. Would be great just to have around everyday or at the bar. I wouldn’t call it cream as adoes the description. Tastes like a plane ole amber beer.

Sep 26, 2008 Clear amber with a good malt/hop balance. Moderately sweet. Smooth finish. A good summer drink.

Sep 22, 2008 Draught @ WABF 2008. Pours a clear amber color with a small off-white head. Has a malty aroma with some hints of caramel. Sweet malty caramel flavor. Has a sweet malty caramel finish.
