Lots of malty flavor with a touch of bitterness pretty much as you’d expect for the style. Very flavorful and the amber color was pretty. Can’t complain, however the label could use some improvements - it looks a bit amateurish. dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 12, 2005 Really good beer, but you’d never know it from the blue and gold packaging - looks a little too old school. Well made Marzen that I’m bringing to the Thanksgiving table. Sure, I’ll save a pumpkin ale for desert, but the touch of sweetness on this beer is perfect for the mashed sweet potatoes with butter. My guess is it’ll pair nicely with the rest of the meal as well.
Most of the reviews here have nailed the aroma/flavor really well. The hoppy aftertaste doesn’t knock you over, but certainly stands out. A good more-than-one beer, so buying a six is more than justified. Jine (896), Nutley, New Jersey, USA

Aroma of malts. Tastes better too. Little bit of sweet, little bit of hop. A mysteriously good Oktober for a brewing company based in New Jersey but contract brewed in New York wnhay (722), Princeton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 22, 2005 Poured lught amber with with a thick white head. Smelled like courant, caramel, honey and vanilla. Vanilla was a nice touch in the taste. Palate was very creamy with some good floral hops on the palate. Nice surprise I must say.
