| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 10, 2009 Bottle. Pours a wonderful deep mahongany with a nice offwhite head. Aromas are quite floral with some malt. A little strange to be honest. Falvours of sweet malt, toffee and nuts. Reasonably bitter on the finish with some resiny hops.on the finish. Nicely balanced and mouthfeel is just about perfect. Strange aromas distracted a little from what would have been a really nice beer. DuffMan (2766), the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 8, 2009 Bottle. Clear dark amber brown with a lively almond coloured head that leaves nice lacing down the glass. Nutty toffee aroma. Nice toasty flavour, roasted nuts, toffee, hints of chocolate. Bitter finish. Very flavourful with a nice smooth mouthfeel. Delicious. denimglen (8), Auckland, New Zealand does not count | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 21, 2009 Really good beer. Aroma of soft malt, some caramel, floral hops, touch of diacetyl and fruit esters. Large pillowy head, sticky lace, stream of fine bubbles, dark copper, awesome retention. Fruity and slightly earthy hops, some ester character, chocolate and toasty mid-palate, balanced, sharpish bitter finish, slightly minerally. Medium body, slightly over carbed. nate2g (1095), Brisbane, Australia
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Apr 11, 2009 Draught. Pours amber with a medium white head. Malt and light fruity tones. The mouthfeel is quite thin and low bitterness in the finish. Not quite there for the style. TheGrandMaster (1866), Auckland, New Zealand
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Mar 11, 2008 Bottle, pours an attractive dark amber with a voluminous off white head. A pleasant aroma combining juicy and flowery characteristics. The malt loses it appeal in the mouth, being quite grainy and thin on the palate. I also get an unfortunate metalicness. The bitter finish saves it somewhat. I was really looking forward to this from the aroma, but it fails in the mouth. Papsoe (15097), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 12, 2008 (Bottle 50 cl) Clear, amber golden with a dense, bubbly, white head. Lightly nutty nose. Medium in body with lightly burned notes, an ashy touch and some nut accents before a dry finish. Decent but unspectacular. 040208 Plimmer (251), Frederiksberg, Denmark
