330. Many thanks, Maria! You totally hooked me up again.
Pours a deep dark opaque black. Thick moussy medium-tan head sprouts and then runs away as soon as you move the glass. Spotty lacing here and there on the sides.
Smallish nose, even after warming up a bit. Lots of dust there, a little light chalk, baking chocolate, dark fruit.
Nice rich body, especially given the clean-drinking baltic porterness. Soft carb, assertive but well modulated flavors. Really carefully considered.
Mid-palate gets really roasty, and that toasty, ashy, char-y, chalky business starts happening. Finish is plenty of char and even a little hint of sticky resiny bitterness. This is fantastic stuff.

C-Bus 7. Brown head over a very dark beer; the kinds that coats the side of the glass when you swirl it. Nose of tar, alcohol and smoked ham. Thick mouthfeel that is almost greasy. Flavors of smoke, coffee, Baker’s chocolate, roast grains and burnt caramel. The finish had a long coffee bitterness. Very nice beer.

Aroma of roasted coffee malts with some prunes. Black coloured with a lasting, medium brown head. Taste is sweet, with roasted coffeebitterness, bit creamy, some prunes and some smoke in it. Nice.

Courtesy of Papsoe. Thank you, Henrik. The aroma is coffee, black licorice, roasted figs and baker’s chocolate. The body is a dark brown to black and holds a very lasting, mocha colored head that starts off about a finger thick. Lots of dark fruit with raisin, prune and plum followed by dark chocolate and some burnt malt notes, Very nice mouthfeel. Low sweetness. Roasty/burnt finish.

(Bottle, Ölbaren, Copenhagen, 19 May 2007) Black colour with creamy, brown head. Malty, roasted nose with chocolate and coffee (with cream). Malty, roasted taste with coffee and chocolate. Full body, rather dry. Creamy, smooth mouthfeel with chocolate taking over more than coffee after a while. Almost perfect balance. Seriously good beer. A wonder Carlsberg haven’t managed to destroy this little masterpiece. Go for it while it’s still around.
