The palate is a bit on the thin side. Bitter coffee, and light bakers chocolate make up the flavor. Pretty nice. coldbrewky (727), Saugerties, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 22, 2007 Pours an oily dark black with a deep mocha head. Nutty roasted malt nose. Bottle presentation is well done. Body is sweet and upfront. A bit overwhelming. Some sweet fruit and a nice dry finish that creeps thru the body. A smokieness that is reminicent of lightly smoked meat. I wish Maria would have sent me two of these but that seems to be a pattern that is developing. I suppose I’ll have to plan a trip to Denmark. Bottle at the end of the night behind the Mikkeller stand at Ølfestival. Wish to god I could remember who gave us this so I could say thanks but alas after all the BGB I just can’t remember. Sadly due to our inebriated condition our notes were a little thin on the ground also so in homage to the evening my notes stay as they are in the book... "caramel, malt, very smoky" that’s it I’m afraid. Damn good beer though! estoves (41), Göteborg, Sweden
