12 oz bottle, 2006 vintage, via henrikb. Pours one of the deepest black colored bodies that I’ve ever seen. The head was rather small, dark brown, and faded to a whispy film and a thin ring. The nose is a mix of roast, smoke, and caramel with a slight graininess. I’m also getting an off vegetal note and very light alcohol fumes. Flavor is roasty and slightly burnt, and noticably lacking in the caramel that I expect of a Baltic, but it’s still strangely interesting. I guess the caramel is there, but it’s more of a burnt caramel. A little noticable alcohol on the finish. Mouthfeel is full bodied with a nice oily thick texture and moderate soft carbonation. This is one interesting beer. Not sure it’s up there with my favorite Baltics, but it was certainly worth trying.

Bottle. Black color with a small light brown head. Aroma is light malty, dark chocolate, malt sweet, light hoppy, licorice, light smoke. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration (botterne is burnt or chocolate). Body is medium to fule, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. (Generates sweet memories of old times drinking Wiibroe Imperial stout) ;o))

Black body with a huge light brown head; Medium sized balanced nose, meaty smoked aromas as well as roasted malt and dark red berries, but it also has this classic unfitting Carlsberg metallic scent; Huge soft carbonation in a soft textured body, balanced bitter and a little sweet, lacks character; It finishes medium long with quite some fill, a little bitter and sweet, balanced aromas. This is a good beer, but nothing more. I have had a few bottles of this new batch by now and and really think it needs a lot and especially more character to be as good as the average rating.

Perhaps the best damed beer I ever have tasted. A dark brow full-bodied beer with a long after taste of coffee og a bit chololate. All most like Thisted Bryghus’s Limfjordsporter or Samuel Smith Imperial Stout - only much better. Pleace do try it.

Bottled. An opaque black beer, topped with a low brown head. Looks delicious. Loads of coffee in the aroma along with roasted and burnt malts, dark chocolate , smoke and wood. Full and chocolately lavour with strong notes of pure cocoa, coffee, wood and dried figs. medium bodied which makes it dangerously drinkable. Long finish of wood, smoke and black chocolate. A masterpiece. I never thought I would say this but: Thanks Carlsberg (for bringing it back)!
