Roast, chocolate and wood aromas with a hint of butterscotch, complex, but somewhat weak to my nose. Dry and bitter flavour with some wood, loads of roast malt, and a hint of alcohol. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 27, 2007 Bottle. A bit nervous on rating this old time favorite being reintroduced on the market. To start with: The price is right. Buy it at the supermarket ! Brown and lasting head (promising). Pitch black body (interest increasing). Deep and powerful coffee choccolate aroma (getting exited now). Smooth well rounded coffee choccolate dried fruits flavor with a butter sort of ending. Long lasting aftertaste. Alcohol well hidden. I think my favorite is back ! Well why don’t I give it a super rating then. Sorry mates no surprises. charlotte (2030), Vanløse, Denmark

Welcome back to this revivaled beer after 4 years out of production. Notes of smoke and smoothness are the main notes of this brew and the rest is the usual notes of stouts. Very fullbodied and full of ingredients. Congratulations to carlsberg. PROBABLY THE BEST STOUT IN THE WORLD beermouth (435), Langeskov, Denmark

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 16, 2007 Very black with brown top. Aroma very roasted and coffee but also some metalic thing I dont like. Taste is roasted coffee and the 8,2% alc is very well hidden. There is though some salty taste I dont like.
Overall great value for money. petermadsen (391), Vesterbronxxx, Denmark
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 14, 2007 This reborn baby pours jet black in my glass and forms a dense, tan but rather weak head. The aroma is slightly metallic, put otherwise dominated by roasted grains and hops. Quite clean...
The taste is roasty, coffeish and a bit burned. Theres a slight note of liqourice. The bitterness is nice and full. And both from the hops and the black malts.
The only real flaw in this beer is the carbonation. It’s a bit too aggresive and is in stark contrast to the finer nuances of this incredibly smooth and round beer.
It’s a real treat at the stupidly low price of 10 kr (about 1,6 USD) sunevdj (1775), Copenhagen OE, Denmark

Sweet and slightly tart. Malty flavors with some roasted coffee. Hint of sweet fruits. Ever-so-slightly portish. he beerhas a very little hint of sweet liquirish. Full bodied. Medium carbonation. Long dry finish with a slight burning alcohol sensation. Nice, relatively mild Imperial Stout. Thanx to Wiibroe for taking this one up again.
