Bottle. What a wonderful Imperial Stout for the prise of 10 Danish kroner. Quit impressive. Average creamy dark head that mostly lasted. Left some good lacing. Quit murky and black coloured. Heave malt with notes of coffee, molasses, chocolate, roasted, nutty. But also notes of horse blanket, toffee, smoke, tar, liquorice. Full bodied with a light oily texture and a flat carbonation. Moderated sweet with balanced bitterness to it. Bitter-sweet finish with an average duration. Quit good Baltic Porte. Welcome back!

One of the worlds best stouts is back. I love this style and Wiibroe Imperial stout has it all. Not to dry not to sweet, well balanced alcohol level and a smooth medium to full body. The Danish microbreweries could learn a lot from this beer

Its back! After being out of production for 8 years (when the original Wiibroe brewery closed) Carlsberg has now re-launched it. Black colour with a big long lasting creamy light brown head. Aroma of well roasted almost burned malts, coffee, bitter chocolate and hops. Great flavour of the dark roasted malts, good bitterness, coffee, prunes, raisins and a little tobacco. Long dry aftertaste with some alcohol. A super great Imperial stout! 7th of January 2007: It still kicks butt big time!

Bottle... best-by-date = May 1988... Pitch black ale with a small, well-tanned head. The nose provides notes of Play Dough®, chocolate, soy sauce and caramel. Sweet, chocolatey flavor. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and pillow-soft carbonation. Finishes chocolatey and sweet. An oldie, but a goody. Thanks to argo0 for sharing his bottle of this vintage brew!

33cl bottle, best-by date of May 1988 (!!), many thanks to argo0 for sharing this one. Pours a pitch-black appearance with a miniscule tannish head and slight lacing. Raisins, dark chocolate, vanilla smokiness in the aroma. Slightest oxidation, medium-to-full mouthfeel, bitter chocolate dominates; raisiny, complex, layered palette; would benefit from slightly higher levels of carbonation (but at least it still has carbonation!). A great beer that’s held up remarkably well.

330 ml bottle. Well aged sample (but I forgot to write down the BB date). Jet black body with small, light brown head. Pours with a thick fluid. Nice roasted coffee aroma with dried prunes. Flavor is sweet malt, chocolate, dry fruit and some vanilla. Sweet and bitter aftertaste, harmonic balanced alcohol level.

Rating # 2900. Bottle BB 1985. Pitch black colour with a small light brown head. Malty, raisin and plum sweet aroma with vague liqourice note. Malty, chocolate sweet flavor with notes of dried dark fruit and tobacco. Thanx to joergen for sharing this one.
