Comments: A bit weaker than I thought, but I guess a remarkable value for the price. Surprisingly light-bodied, but well extracted coffee bean flavours with soy disturbances and more alcohol and hops I’d have expected – probably more than any 3 Carlsberg beers.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 19, 2007 Pours dark brown with a tan head. Smells of roasted coffee, chocolate, some nuts, some dark fruit. Tastes chocolatey with some nice roasty qualities and touches of licorice. palate is oily. This has a lot of malt character. drewbeerme (2282), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 11, 2007 bottle. pours black with tan head. nose has a tight roast to it, with dark chocolate and coffee. flavor is mainly dark chocolate, some roast, raisins, and the finish is smooth and dark fruity. a touch of tar lingers throughout. mouth feel is bit sticky and carbonation is smooth. odd how the neck calls it a porter and the body label calls it an imperial stout. for what it’s worth it seemed like a baltic porter being more on the chocolatey/roasty side. this brewery may suck but this beer is great. One of the best beers I’ve ever had. Pours darker than 2am in the Sonoran desert with an aroma of cocoa infused chocolate covered cherry. Tastes like a fresh batch of roasted cocoa topped with chocolate syrup with a side of coffee. If this doesn’t coat your tongue right, nothing will. This is one incredible beer. I should’ve hoarded this one out of Zinister’s reach!!! Zinister (1201), Houston, Texas, USA

Dark as night with a wonderful thin dark mocha head. Roasted coffee beans mixed with dusty chocolate covered cherries and cocoa powder. Oh my god...an incredible flavor! Thick, full bodied velvety mouth feel....roasted african coffee beans, mocha, chocolate....oh my love this is good. bu11zeye (5495), Frisco, Texas, USA

Aroma of chocolate, roastiness, and light coffee. Flavor of roasted malt, milk chocolate, caramel, and some dark fruit with a very dry, bitter finish. Glouglouburp (2839), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 28, 2007 Bottle from Rastacouere. Black body topped by a tan ring of foam. Nose is black beans in soy sauce. Taste of burnt soy sauce, over-toasted bread, molasses and raisins. Very very roasted with even a light ashes presence. The roastiness level is not too aggressive but might be a bit too extreme for its own good. Medium body, medium carbonation and long finish. Decent but forgettable. Ratebeer category is Baltic Porter. Whatever. I don’t know what it wants to be and with a neck label saying "Porter" and a body label saying "Imperial Stout" I’m not sure the brewer knows either.
