xnoxhatex (1305), Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA May 5, 2008 Thanks to Rayboy and the rest of the League for sharing this mead that I have wanted to try ever since I saw it added to the site. Viscous pale yellow color with no head. Aroma is sweet alc and honey with a little floral nose. Sweet honey flavor with a little too much alc, I really wish that the chocolate was more apparent. Medium viscous body. I am a big fan of this meadery and the guys are absoliutely great that run it, but this one may have missed the mark a little bit. Thanks! holdenn (1431), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 3, 2008 Thanks to the LoSBD for not only putting on DLD (thanks for the clusterf*ck guys), but providing a table to showcase the local meads. This one pours a clear water yellow color. That nose. umm ... I hate to sound ungrateful .. but it is seriously horrible. Nothing but plastic tubing. Rubbing alcohol, rubber. Just terrible. I could only hope that flavors are better, and they are but not by too much. I think only a little of that plastic tubing seeped into the flavor but there was enough sweet honey to back it up. The chocolate is barely noticeable. Only a dry dusting of bakers chocolate just before the finish. Cornfield (4892), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Apr 29, 2008 It may be because I was freezing my tuckus off at DLD when I picked this up from the The LoSBD table first thing in thew morning, but this went down great. A chocolate mead? I imagined it was going to be sickeningly sweet, but I liked it. It had a very pale golden body and seemed just a bit thin. The aroma had a light honey sweetness, a soft dried floral scent, and just a touch of chocolate. The chocolate seemed more prominent in the flavor, but it melded well with the dry honey sweetness and lingered into the finish. Interesting.

dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA Apr 29, 2008 pale pale yellow color, no hint of head. aroma: i dunno...fingernail polish? thick honey flavor, with the vaguest hint of chocolate somwhwew in the background. very thick and sweet in the mouth. didn’t catch a lot of chocolate in this mead. RAYBOY01 (1812), Chicago, Illinois, USA Apr 1, 2008 Pale sparkling golden pour...still, no head. The mead has moderately lingering legs when swirled. Very sweet floral/herbal nose with the tiniest hint of chocolate. The flavors are similarly floral/herbal, and definitely honey sweet, with the chocolate well in the background upfront, but coming on strongly in the aftertaste. Very nice dessert type drink.
