Commercial Description:
Not suited for timid or reserved beer drinkers, Wild Blue’s defining taste characteristic is its kick of natural blueberry flavor. The Blue Dawg Brewing team carefully selected a blend of hops and barley malt to ensure they complemented and balanced Wild Blue’s dominant blueberry notes, resulting in a robust and aromatic beer with a refreshing, palate-cleansing finish. Wild Blue is brewed with a blend of German hops from the Hallertau region in Bavaria and classic Aroma hops from the Willamette Valley in the Pacific Northwest. A combination of two- and six-row barley malt also was chosen specifically for this recipe. Beer lovers will appreciate this specialty fruit-infused lager’s striking burgundy color, ripe blueberry aroma and its ability to stand up to the strongest of foods.

Clear maroon red pour with a super pink head. Smell is alcohol, blueberries, and more alcohol. Smells like a combo of cheap gin and stale blueberry pies. Flavor is sweet alcohol and sweet generic fruit flavor. It tastes like a watered down mixed drink served at a sorority party. Thin and bubbly - you just can’t ask for anything more!

Can’t believe this was an AB beer...damn girlfriend bought it for herself for a night. She didn’t even like it and neither did I. Isn’t like beer at all, more like fruit juice. Seriously, it had a huge pink head. Would not have thought this was an 8% beer. The remaining 5 beers of the 6 pack was left in a friend’s fridge. Poor bastard.

This in no way resembles a beer - honestly tastes more like a fruit juice than anything. Hard to evaluate as a beer - head was pink and frothy then quickly disappeared, palate is weak and watery, no real defining taste (even blueberry). Don’t go out of your way but if someone has one take a sip because you would never believe this is an 8%.

Interesting. Looks like grape juice and palate tastes a bit like it, but has very nice lacing. Also the booziness comes through a little and I enjoyed that aspect. Didn’t come off as TOO sweet to me considering the style.

looks and smells like grape juice. Taste reveals the blueberry and is nicely balanced between the tartness of the berries and sweetness of the beer but after a while it reminded me of a malternative with a shot of fruit wine dumped in. Extra points for the fake brewery name.

Bottle. Grape Juice? To sweet, felt like drinking watered down blueberry pancake syrup.
