Syd (740), Twin Cities Metro, Minnesota, USA May 16, 2008 Bottle pours violet with a pink head that laces in sheets. It looks interesting. The aroma is of blueberry syrup for pancakes. The flavor is of blueberry syrup for pancakes. There is a faint wisp of a hop in the finish (or it could be the last IPA I rated still in my mouth). Sort of like pop, sort of like wine cooler, sort of like overly sweet craft beer fruit beer offerings. There really is no hint of the 8% ABV, + points for that. The palate is pretty rich and still cleansing, but cloying. This is not a bad attempt. I was not expecting this; rather I was expecting more of a lager with hint of blueberry. Boy was I wrong. Interesting.
Juelze (703), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Oct 12, 2008 Pours a rich purple color with light pink head. Aroma is abundant with blueberries and not much else. Lacks complexity and balance is it’s overtly sweet. Meh. Beerded_one (1617), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 11, 2008 Bottle. Pours purple with a light pink head. Aroma of tart blueberries. Strong sweet flavor of blueberries throughout. light to medium body with low carbonation and a clean and smooth finish. KornDogg (29), Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 8, 2008 Purple body with pinkish head... strong berry flavor, not a typical fruit beer, but refreshing... Decent fruit beer for AB, who would have thought?? I love this beer in the summer time... goes down smooth, quick and easy... had to buy a case... eurobier (18), snellville, Georgia, USA Oct 5, 2008 Best stuff I’ve had from AB actually leaves a lacing on the glass does remind me of carbonated grape Kool Aide not much on traditional beer taste and you can’t taste the alcohol but you can sure feel it. slipy120 (22), Michigan, USA Oct 3, 2008 Beer pours with a slight hint of blue in the head. The presence of berries was obvious. Average mouthfeel and carbonation. I like how the hops and berry flavoring matched. Not a great beer but quite refreshing and enjoyable.
