GermanBrews76 (667), Eugene, Oregon, USA Feb 27, 2003 Completely opaque, black as night. Thin light brown head. ALCOHOL and some serious roastedness, but hop presence is discernable as well. Some grainy notes, lots of dark cocoa, bitter and ALCOHOL. A smokey whiskeyish character stands out in the mouth. Great roastey finish, surprisingly sweet as well. floral tones fade in and out of the roastey alcoholic brew. Its got some power, but I was left waiting for the massive warming effect I thought an imperial stout aught to bring. Aubrey (2773), Denver, Colorado, USA Oct 6, 2002 Only had a few ounces of this, but it was memorable. Super heavy on the tongue and very rewarding. Had a nice & aromatic, licorice ambience to it. Brutally intense and very attention-getting. Nice and deep alcohol nip in the finish.
