ChainGangGuy (2522), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA Sep 11, 2009 Appearance: Pours a clear, gold body with a thinnish, wispy, white head.
Smell: Simply put, it’s a nose of light, delicate pale malts reasonably supported by some spicy, zesty hop notes.
Taste: Mild pale maltiness with just a small hint of crystal sweetness in the fore. Spicy, earthy hops with a minute addition of citrus. Fairly restrained bitterness throughout, but, don’t get me wrong, it’s more than enough to maintain control. Finishes dry with that (still relatively light) bitterness still lingering around.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: Politely average! Don’t go in think it’s an Extra Pale Ale where it’s a pale ale plus a little extra. No, it’s an Extra Pale Ale where it’s a pale ale dialed down a bit. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Aug 31, 2009

unclemattie (2370), Georgia, USA Aug 19, 2009 12oz bottle. Shallow amber color. Aroma of bubblegum, floral hops. Flavor is a simple malt, followed by a sharp, crisp hop bitterness. Slow drinking, not because it is strong or rich... It tastes like puke. shp555 (1677), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Aug 9, 2009 Pours a copper color with a white head. Aroma is vegative, some caramel, and some spicy hops. Flavor is caramel, toast, grain, and a bitter vegative spicy finish. williamherbert (420), Syracuse, New York, USA Jul 27, 2009 Impeccably clear golden yellow color, but not much body other than a high-tide, quickly fading foamy head. Lager aroma, crisp pale malts, nearly no hop. Weak pale lager aroma. Heavy crystalline pale malt flavor; all flowery hop presence is overshadowed by creamy malt. Desperately needs a hop balance. Feels creamy/fizzy; this beer’s best attribute. Might be good for XPale fans, but too dry and bitter for me. Cletus (4999), Connecticut, USA Jul 25, 2009 Pours gold with a thin white head. Smells earthy and perfumy. Tastes sweet and rosey with a toasty finish. unclemike (834), Ft. Riley, Kansas, USA Jul 8, 2009 sampler The aroma is very malty and hoppy with a hint of biscuit yeast. The appearance is golden with an amber hue and an average head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall it’s goodpack ben4321 (946), Rockville, Maryland, USA Mar 24, 2009 Location: 3/24/09, 12 oz bottle from Gilly’s, poured this one into one of those Sam Adams bubble glasses
Aroma: Slight malts, some grass
Appearance: Cloudy yellow, orange
Flavor: Hoppy, slightly bitter, bit of a strangeness that’s hard to place
Palate: Dry, a bit difficult to properly describe
Overall Impression:
This one was alright at first, but it didn’t work exactly right. A little to dry, and missing something that cost it a few points. Aftertaste leaves something to be desired for sure.
