Commercial Description:
An adult goose leads the goslings. We can relate. As one of the first microbreweries to open for business in the Mid-Atlantic region, we’ve blazed a trail for other craft brewers. Our wild goose XPA is a classic English style ale best enjoyed with a Chesapeake bay sunset and a friend. wildgoosebrewery.com 5.0% Alc/Vol IBU: 27

Location: 3/24/09, 12 oz bottle from Gilly’s, poured this one into one of those Sam Adams bubble glasses

Aroma: Slight malts, some grass
Appearance: Cloudy yellow, orange
Flavor: Hoppy, slightly bitter, bit of a strangeness that’s hard to place
Palate: Dry, a bit difficult to properly describe
Overall Impression: This one was alright at first, but it didn’t work exactly right. A little to dry, and missing something that cost it a few points. Aftertaste leaves something to be desired for sure.

12 oz. bottle. Pours an orange gold with a foamy white head. The head is quick to fade but leaves a bit of lacing. Decent malt and hop aromas. Citrus, honey, and some grass in the nose. Medium carbonation with a dry, chalky mouthfeel. The bitterness is a bit overpowering at first. The malt sweetness finally comes through, but that bitterness lasts just a bit too long. Light cracker, grain notes and a touch of malt sweetness on the palate. Kind of bitter and tasteless. This is not their best beer.

Savannah, Ga. Habersham Beverage Warehouse - 12 pk - part of variety 12 pack. Light copper pour, tight white head. Faint floral aroma with a hint of nuttiness. Flavor has a nice subtle bitterness with some muted citrus notes, a hint of caramel and some fresh lake water notes. Mothfeel is crisp and carbonated.

Amber color, medium sized head. Smooth upfront, citrusy, bitter finish. A decent pale ale, but nothing spectacular.

Bottle from Capital Ale House - Downtown on 10/06/2008. Very clear golden copper body with a small creamy off-white head. Sweet caramel aroma with some cheerios and a bit of honey. More cheerios flavor, light honey and slight caramel. Medium body with moderately low carbonation.

Wild Goose xpa. Nice pale yellow streaming appearance. Fairly bitter taste even tho the aroma is only mild hops. Strongish overall with a flowery bitter aftertaste. S5L2F3T4o8

(bottle - 12 oz) Amber color with a fizzy and puffy white head. Aroma is mild and spicy with some good hints of citrus, floral notes, herbs, and some nuts. Flavor begins with a nice and apparent floral hop bite, followed by some notes of pepper, earth, wood, dry hops, and a little caramel malt. Watery and very cloying with the bitterness.

Bright amber appearance with a small, off white head and little lacing. Subtle aroma of herbal, floral hops. Taste is moderately hoppy, slightly spicy, and a little woody at first, with good malt balance to keep things running smoothly. Nice lingering, bitter finish.
