Commercial Description:
An adult goose leads the goslings. We can relate. As one of the first microbreweries to open for business in the Mid-Atlantic region, we’ve blazed a trail for other craft brewers. Our wild goose XPA is a classic English style ale best enjoyed with a Chesapeake bay sunset and a friend. wildgoosebrewery.com 5.0% Alc/Vol IBU: 27

Bright amber appearance with a small, off white head and little lacing. Subtle aroma of herbal, floral hops. Taste is moderately hoppy, slightly spicy, and a little woody at first, with good malt balance to keep things running smoothly. Nice lingering, bitter finish.

Bottle. Just enough flavor to keep this drinkable, but not enough to make it more than good. Clear, light amber body with a small, bubbly head. The aroma is mostly malty with notes of grain, bread and a hint of caramel, lightly yeasty with hints of biscuit and and lightly hoppy with hints of grass. Medium body and watery texture. Lively carbonation. With the alcohol level a little above a session beer, this is nicely balanced and easy drinking.

Pours a light copper collor. Aroma is sweetly hoppy. Flavor is obviously mostly hoppy. A bit of bitterness in the background, but its mostly floral and sweet. Nice .

A boring and bland pale ale. Aroma was weak with not much to it. Stale light malt with not much else. Pour was a light amber with no head but some small bubbles. Taste was stale and bland. Light buttery malt with just a hint of soapy hops. Good carbonation.

The aroma is very malty and hoppy with a hint of biscuit yeast. The appearance is golden with an amber hue and an average head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall it’s good.

12oz bottle. The appearance of this one is indeed an extra pale, heavily filtered, orange-tan color. The taste is quite British in my opinion, with a creamy malt backbone and a mild, hoppy beginning and end. Nothing over-the-top, but I’d have to say this might be one of Maryland’s finest new session beers. Deceiving appearance, but quite a nice Ale.
