| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 18, 2005 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear gold with head consisting of a ring around the glass. Aroma is weak and grassy. Slight citrus flavor. Finishes bitter. This is the worst IPA I’ve ever had. Tastes like they mixed an IPA with a bud light or something. beaconstreet (811), Washington DC, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Sep 27, 2005 Not as excited about this one, honestly. Also at Camden Yards, Baltimore. Too much .... trying for something. Not enough sheer crisp sky heart. desurfer (1068), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Sep 18, 2005 Amber with little head. Aroma is light and hoppy, mostly citrus. Flavor has a lot of citrus and pine hops, along with plenty of maltiness to balance it out, seeming to put in in the English IPA range. Pretty good. TheBeerGod (3167), Newport News, Virginia, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 17, 2005 Bottle. Amber colored with a small tan colored head. Nose is kind of weak. Lighter hop notes, light malts, grains, and light yeast notes. Taste is hoppy but controlled. Light citrus notes, faint tangerine and orange peel, some earthy notes, light chewy malt notes and light yeast. The orange and tangerine comes through more as it warms and the aftertaste lingers in your mouth. Body is medium with mild carbonation and light lingering bitterness. Finishes with citrus and light earthy hops along with malt and light yeast. Not too bad. rajendra82 (704), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 3, 2005 The clear, pale, golden appearance was lighter than anticipated. Carbonation was active, but the head was rather small. Aroma was not very hoppy, and primarily grainy, and a little bit sweet. The taste was also sweet and malty, with only a smattering of earthy hops. This reminded me more of a lager than anything else at first. The mouthfeel was medium thick, and slightly sticky. The hops did finally show up in the finish, but the sweetness was still omnipresent. Not my cup of tea, as this one had too much sugar. thegreenrooster (1842), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 14, 2005 Pour is a nice light orange with a big white head. Aroma is a nice crisp hop. Flavor is a bit weak but you do get a mild hop kick. Not the best IPA by a long shot. Cornfield (4966), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 3, 2005 Updated: Jan 23, 2008I love the huge, chunky white head and the way that it thick-laces the glass. But I s’pose that’s not the point of an IPA. The golden ale has a pleasant floral and piney hop aroma atop a light, almost wheat-like malt smell, and at first I thought I might actually be drinking a blonde ale. The first thing that I noticed in the taste was the buttery caramel malt until the hop bitterness finally came through, sturdily but not overpoweringly so. The finish is a slight, sticky bitterness, nice enough, but over all leaving the impression that if this was from England, RB would have labelled it as a Bitter.
