| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 2, 2004 Pours dark straw. Aroma of citrus, hops, and some sweet honey. Tastes hoppy, and finishes with hops and a bitter burst. SledgeJr (2966), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 21, 2004 In the bottle. I'm told this brewery is about to go under. I hope not because this IPA is quite fine. Excellent buttery palate with a strong hop aroma and bittering taste. Not too much calcium sulfate, and that's probably good, but I like the gypsum to be heavy in an IPA. Dogbrick (2864), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 25, 2004 This brew is a clear orange color with a medium thin off-white head. Very little lacing. The aroma is lightly bitter hops and citrus. Medium-bodied and crisp with a rather subtle hops flavor. Not much else in the flavor other than a touch of malt. The finish is dry and on the bitter side. Not flavorfully bitter hops, just bitter. This isn't a terrible beer but it doesn't really warrant trying again. Braudog (3770), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 1, 2004 Updated: Jan 2, 2007Re-rate since the recent re-taking of the Frederick Brewery by Wild Goose: Very light color, almost golden. Nice enough light fruity aroma. Tartly hoppy with a spicy malt base. Decent enough IPA. Lighter and spicer than what you’d expect. MAP (1089), Lakewood, Ohio, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Dec 4, 2003 Unique smell for an IPA, sweet, but there is a good amount of yeast and a little bit of grassyness to it. Flavor is smooth initially, then slides right into an oily, acidic finish. I've had enought IPA's that I think i can safely avoid this one next time. lyebaptism (17), USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 4, 2003 Sharp, bitter hoppy IPA. Not as bitter as most of the IPA's I drink but acceptable. Good, bitter finish. No head at all. Grapefruit aroma. Nothing special about this brew. jeffc666 (1895), Fairfax, Virginia, USA
