Sampled this hometown brew in the bottle and it delivered as expected. The aroma had a heavy nut flavor and had the flavor was a decent mixture of medium sweetness and mild bitterness. The ale was dry and thin with low carbonation. It had a thick brown color with a light tan head.

Bottle. Poured clear brown with an average frothy off-white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Moderate sweet chocolate aroma. Medium body with soft carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration.

Transparent brown appearance with a medium size, off white head and little lacing. Chocolate malt aroma complimented by almonds. Toasted malt, modestly hopped taste. Smooth, medium bodied, nicely carbonated mouthfeel.

Pours a reddish brown. Aromas of chocolate/nuts/ and some fruit. Flavor didn’t stand up to the aroma. A little chocolate/coffee taste.

Smells very malty; almost no head. I’ve never really liked the "nutty" character in this style. To me, there’s just too much malts, although this is okay.

Smooth, but not incredibly impressive. Good flavor but not as much as I would expect.

12 oz bottle. Clear orange-brown color with thin off white head. No lace. Nose is a bit off, like cooked vegetables and molasses. Flavor is better, slightly roasty with a touch of malty caramel. Nothing to write home about.
