Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark brown color with a medium sized tan head. The aroma is malty and moderately vegetal. The flavor is nutty and a bit roasty with a light vegetal element. There is a hint of roasty chocolate on the tangy finish. thegreenrooster (1852), St.louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 6, 2006 Pour is a very dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is very light but very sweet and malty. Flavor is nice! Very much dark malts with some raision and caramel. A pretty nice beer from a brewer i have never heard of before. cAPSLOCK (154), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 3, 2006 Clear pretty brown - very little head. Nice sweet aroma - caramel. Very malty, but with distinct personality. Perhaps in the blend of malts? Carbonation is nice. Hops are fairly subdued. Overall nothing too exciting here, but a beer I would be glad to drink if offered. AdamSkillin (376), High Bridge, New Jersey, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 29, 2006 This is a nice example of the style, it’s got some color, but no overwhelming flavor, just a pleasant drinkable nuttiness. Hops are just enough to balance the inassertive maltiness. This is just about right for a session beer. rudolf (1789), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 25, 2006 Deep copper, thin off-white head. Nose has plenty of caramel, some chocolate, some sweet maple. Maple and dry chocolate dominate with a little frutiness and a bittersweet cocoa finish. Passable. crazyvin (1255), New York, USA
