Jan 2, 2007 A nut-brown beer - wonder where I got that from, with a thin light brown head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of nuts, while the flavor has notes of malt, caramel, and nuts as well as hints of nutmeg.

clear brown, thin beige head, lots of lace,
big sweet nutty malt aroma with a nice amout of carmel and yeasty character plus a bit of strange hops,
slightly oxidized chocolate malt flavor, nice toasted character, good and yeasty like fresh bread,
very good flavor that might be improved in a fresher sample,

Jul 10, 2004 Crystal clear deep red-brown body topped by small beige head. Aroma is fairly sweet, caramel, toffee, nutty. Taste is medium sweet, nutty, caramel, some roasty, light chocolate. Finish is bittersweet. Watery light-medium body.

Sep 5, 2003 Crystal clear, mahogany ale with a small, creamy, well-tanned head.
Heavy butterscotch and toffee in the aroma. Vanilla and chocolate as well. Malt bliss!
Very well-balanced and nutty with small, thin notes of chocolate, coffee and tangy hops in the flavor. A bit woodsy.
Medium-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and lively carbonation.
Damn nice brew!

Mar 13, 2006 Pours brown with a creamy tan head. Smells nutty with some malty presence. Taste is nutty with some caramel and toffee notes. Finishes lightly sweet. No hop profile to speak of.

Feb 11, 2006 A little bit thin, but otherwise a pleasant sessionable ale. Clean brown with orange highlights and a pale tan head, it’s got a mild, sweet malt aroma accented by blanched hazelnuts. The sweet malt continues in the flavor with a subdued nutty bitterness and a soft chocolate taste.
