Good brew. very thick. I enjoyed ytis a lot, it was a meal in itself. I would buy this again.

A bit aged, 9 months past expiry. Good brown mollasses and chocolate, not too much lasting head. Smooth and drinkable with some astringency mid-sip. Toasty, variety of malts, and in the background, 3 hops. some creaminess. In the genre as St. Ambroise, though on a lesser and different plateau.

Bottle, best by 16707. Dark, but translucent with red highlights when held to the light. Medium-sized head lasts and leaves nice webbing. Aroma is mostly balanced: dark fruit, chocolate and smoky malt against some spicy hops - but more hop nose than most stouts. Palate is medium-bodied, slightly watery and pretty smooth. Flavor is dryish, with smoke and coffee overtones balancing the underpinning of the ever-so-slight brown sugar malt body. Slight citrus hop aftertaste is nice too. Good balance; nice session stout, but I prefer them a little sweeter and thicker.

5/03/2007: Wild Goose Oatmeal Stout pours an opaque, dark brown color. It has a well-retained medium foamy beige head. The visible carbonation is a good level and comprised of fine carbonation bubbles. The aroma and flavor contain roasted malts, some dark chocolate, and tobacco. Overall the flavor and mouthfeel are smooth, mellow, and soft. The body of the beer is medium-full and is smooth and creamy. Wild Goose Oatmeal Stout would be an excellent Brown Ale, but it is lacking all around as an Oatmeal Stout... 12 oz bottle (Best if enjoyed by 14607FX) shared with Tmoney99 at Mainstrasse Village Pub in Covington, Kentucky.

Bottle. Pours dark red/brown/black with a quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma is roasty, sweet malts. Flavor is quite sweet, some roastiness and bitter chocolate bordering on bitter hops.

Pours with a chocolate brown head that diminishes after several minutes. Coffee black appearance. Very sweet, malty aroma with a hint of oats. Medium bodied with nice carbonation. Nice flavor with oatmeal, toffee, roasted barley flavor.

great toasted flavor, a nice easy to drink stout, was good but nothing flavorwise really sets apart from average.
