Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin rim of brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of whiskey and alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, alcohol, and oatmeal as well as light notes of whiskey.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a large brown head. The aroma is sweet, sour and has a strong chocolate syrup element. The mouthfeel is thick and creamy. The flavor is roasty, toasty and moderately sweet with hints of chocolate and coffee. The finish is bitter and roasty. Quite tasty.

A hometown favorite! Have sampled in both bottles and on tap, delivers consistently good taste. The stout is a very dark brown color with a creamy head that quickly dissipates. Its aroma is roasty, toasty, and has hints of chocolate and caramel. The beer has a medium body and is a bit fizzy and creamy; wetter than a typical stout, with medium bitterness and wonderful sweetness. Very happy to have easy access to this great oatmeal stout.

12 oz bottle, via slob. Pours a clear very dark brown, almost black, colored body under a small fizzy brown head that receded to a thin film. Aroma is roasty and chocolaty with a nice hoppy note. Some oats, burnt malt, and chalk. Flavor is burnt and roasty up front, slightly astringent, with a nice hoppy bitterness. Finishes with some coffee, chalk, and peanut skins. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a good bit of fizzy forced carbonation. Finishes moderately dry. Overall, your basic Sweet Stout. Nothing impressive but it was drinkable.

RFD - Washington DC - 12 oz bottle. Very good solid stout. Deep dark black pour with a medium size off-white head. Hints of coffee and marshmallows in the strong aroma. Flavor is very roasty with some day old coffee, baker’s chocolate and mashmallows. Good lacticity and a creamy mouthfeel. Enjoyed this one.

Bottle (12oz). Shared with biegaman, his bottle. Deep almost opaque brown-black, small tan head. Deep bitter roasty aroma, coffee grounds, some oily baker’s chocolate, syrupy-sweet on warming. Taste - syrupy, a little cola-like, still very bitter and coffee-grounds, syrupy-oily finish. Pretty thick, sticky, still, harsh mouthfeel - a little disappointing.
