Bottle: Nearly opaque hue with small fizzy tan head and minimal lace. The aroma has notes of mocha, hazelnut, caramelized malts, oats, aromatic hops, prune, espresso, and earthy yeast esters. The taste starts bittersweet with lots of mocha, caramel and oatmeal on top of of the bitters. The finish is coffee infused with a fruity twang. The feel is fizzy, lively, and a touch sharp. The taste was a letdown after the aroma. Seemed unable to let go of a full flavor spectrum. Still worthy of a try. Thanks Jeff for the bottle.

Deep opaque brown body, medium-thin tan head. Roasty, chalky, light aroma. Flavor is very similar to the WG Porter, with dry chocolate, roasted malt, and a touch of coffee in the finish. Chalky with light sweetness. A pretty good stout but it is too similar to their porter.

Poured with little to no head. Black color. Lightly bready, malty nose, very faint though. Medium body, thin, light creaminess. Very mild upfront, inbetween, or ending flavors ceptin fer some faint roastiness and chocolate notes. Dry finish, nuthin. Frederick killed the Goose.

Not bad, not bad. Sweet aroma, dark brown appearance and a real nice taste. Kinda coffiesh and chocolately with a slight streak of sweetness to it. Overall, happy with my purchase.

Pours deep amber/brown, with a medium white head and lace. Aroma of coffee, malt, oats, caramel. Tastes malty, with some coffee, vanilla, sweetness, and slight hops at the finish. Pretty good.

Setting: Served in a sample cup at the Michael Jackson Beer Tasting held at RFD’s. Appearance: Über-dark brown, just this side of black, topped by a creamy white head. Head recedes to a thick ring and a slight film of bubbles. Small specks of foam were left on the glass. Aroma: Maple syrup tinged with coffee aromas. Very raisiny with strong molasses overtones. A wee bit too much. Flavor: Coffee-like with slightly tart burnt malts. Vanilla and butterscotch notes. Palate: Very chewy with some lingering aftertastes. Thick thick thick. Overall: It’s a wee bit cloying, but otherwise purty good. I might ponder a second pint, but the first would take some nursing.

Poured a very dark brown, with a small tan head. Sweet roasted malt and mild chocolate in the aroma. Sweet roast and creamy oat in the taste.

Good dark molasses like color, aroma of coffee and molasses, good balance of maltiness and hoppiness, could taste hints of coffee. Less molasses-like flavor than the Samuel Smith Oatmeal Stout, but very tasty.
