Bottle: Poured a dark brown almost black. Thick but fast dissipating brown head. Sweet chocolate oatmeal scent to it. No real oatmeal taste to it.. more of a coffee and chocolate. Seems a bit thin for a stout.

12oz bottle. Being a Marylander, I’ve had quite a few Wild Goose beers over the years. If I’m not mistaken, this beer used to be 6.5%. They changed the recipe a few years back. Black and stained glass red color. Sweet and a little roasty with mild hop balance. I prefer the old version, but it’s still a pretty good offering.

Bottle. Pours a deep ruby-brown with a spare fast-diminishing tan head. Aroma of lightly roasted caramel malt, notes of coffee & chocolate and yes, some oatmeal. Flavour, which is a tad watery for a Stout, of toasted malt, coffee, oatmeal and light hops. Light roasty bitter finish. Medium bodied. Not bad, simply a good Oatmeal Stout.

July 2006 - This was really surprisingly good for a beer 6.50 a sixer. Beer poured dark, dark brown with head that dissipated rather quickly. Aroma is roasted malt. Flavor is smokey and roasty with some oatmeal. Some lactic milky flavor along with an odd sweet flavor that I can’t place. Rich flavor and tingly mouthfeel. Very pleasant.

The pour and settling are mild as is oatmeal smell. The flavor is a bit of coffee with a nice smooth finish. Overall a nice smooth stout.

Pours black with no head. Aroma is some roasted malt. To me the flavor is very weak for a stout. Some roast malt but very watery in the finish.

Bottle 355 ml
Appearance: Ruby brown with porous tanned ring around..
Nose : Strong nose : plums , sweet malt , bubble gum with roasty malting on side. 6+
Flavor/Palate : Medium bodied , cleanly executed toasty malts . Fruit flavored coffee . Milder at finish . Simple , straightforward ale that was pleasure to have.
