Commercial Description:
Appearing almost black at first glance, Wild Goose Porter is actually a deep ruby-red ale. Roasted malt flavors accent its velvety finish.

Pours dark brown, almost medicinal aroma, I think I detect some cherries in there (?). Wonderful palate, nice and thick and silky smooth. Taste is mildly troubling, kind of dry with none of the chocolatey hints I have come to like from porters. Overall, a nice local (for me) beer.

Appearance is black even held to light I don’t get ruby red. The ABV on my bottle says 4.8% even though this page states that it is 5.3%. Flavor is malty but has the hoppy carbonation burn. Aroma is not present or at least I can’t detect it. Enjoyable but not great.

Nice roasty/chocolatey flavor and great dark color. This beer also has a nice flavor and aroma. A very good porter.

Barely transparent, deep red that looks deep brown. Small, frothy tan head. Mocha, nutty aroma. Sweet taste of mocha and slight chocolate notes. Also fairly smoky. Medium to full bodied and feels great in the mouth. Overall, a good porter.

Sweet, buttery chocolate maltiness in the nose with a tiny touch of smoke. Mahogany/garnet color with a small light tan head that is quickly dissipating. Sweet dark chocolate notes to start with hints of roasty coffee. Long smooth roasty finish. Not too heavy. perfect body for a porter. Good stuff.

Dark, black-brown with teryaki, vanilla and wood stove in the nose. Off-white head and excellent carbonation. The flavor is vanilla, deep rich molasses, raspberry and an alcohol presence. Palate is a velvet bitterness. Great smell. Great taste. Great Porter.

Deep clear red-brown body, medium creamy tan head. Baker’s chocolate and toast aroma. Flavor is rich, layered chocolate with toasty notes and bitter coffee beans in the finish. Has an interesting vanilla-like aspect. Medium-bodied and nicely creamy. Borders on the English porter style. Quite good.

Extremely dark amber color, decent coffee roasted aroma. Good roasted coffee flavor. A little bitterness in the aftertaste. Overall, a good porter.
