Apr 9, 2003 Deep ruby color when held up to the light, with an attractive brown head that leaves good lace. Nice roasted grain nose. Heavy roasted coffee bean flavor. Smooth mouthfeel. Good porter.

Mar 31, 2003 Nice dark-brown body with small tan head. Aroma is coffee, medium sweet. Taste is coffee-chocolate malty, medium sweet, with mild bitterness in finish. Palate is creamy, and fairly thick for a porter.

Feb 14, 2003 Small head, ruby-black colored. Roasty aroma. Hops are
bitter in the middle and leave a slight aftertaste. Chocolate
and/or black malt flavor detected. A bit too dry for my taste.
I prefer a little sweeter porters.

Feb 8, 2003 This is a pretty decent porter. Very straight forward. Very dark, almost black. Tan head with decent retention. Nice roasted, malty flavor. This is a good porter but still not my favorite.

Jan 7, 2003 Average head with dark brown appearance. Weak, yet roasty aroma. Smoke and chocolate in the flavor. Finish is watery and slightly bitter. I"m not all that impressed with this one.
