Jan 2, 2003 Very dark reddish brown, with tan head. Coffeelike, but nonetheless unmistakably beer. Really satisfying, overall.

Nov 13, 2002 Head is initially average sized, frothy, light brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark brown to black. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, dark chocolate), lightly yeasty (dough), with a note of vanilla. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is moderately bitter, lightly acidic, slightly husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A bit of a husky/grainy aftertaste, and overall not that exciting.

Nov 9, 2002 Very nice effort. I had a draft that looked great, tan head. Smells of roasted malt, tastes creamy, nice finish. Easy to drink, not too complex porter.

Sep 7, 2002 a good plain porter. nothing really special, but I liked the simpleness to it. It is a very basic porter taste. A good beginers beer.

Aug 27, 2002 Subtle malty aroma good creamy scents noted. Dark Red-black small tan head. Very flavorful lightly roasted taste. Full mouthfeel with zings of subtle carbonation. Very very smooth and nice pleasing aftertaste. Very nice.

Aug 22, 2002 I intended for something else to be #300, but what can you do when circumstances get in the way? Had this off the handpump and it was mighty enjoyable. Creamy with a huge billowing head. Head actually looked nearly like a nitro beer even though it came from the pump. Initially roadty with coffee prominent. After a bit it settled into a creamy, mocha-licious dream. Finished with a mild hop bite that was somewhat evident in the nose. Body was acceptable, and this brew was quite pleasing to the eye. Pure black with the aforementioned tan head resting on top. Nice!

Aug 12, 2002 I think is probably my favorite Porter so far (but that isn’t saying much). While I am not a big Porter fan, this is impressive. It is way better than Sierra Nevada’s Porter, and smoother than Anchor Porter. Start it out cold and take your time. Don’t worry; the head will stick with you to the bottom.
