| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 21, 2006 Bottle. Pours a very dark ruby color with a really nice, frothy tan head. The aroma has some chewy toffee notes, bark, and chalk. This is a tad medicinal in the mouth. It reminds me a little of this awful, awful honey type liquor that I purchased in Cancun for 4 dollars, which really didn’t taste like honey at all. It’s something that is almost like licorice, but with that extra strange tinge. I guess there’s some chocolate in the mix somewhere, but this odd acidity is subtracting from the whole mix. The flavors really seem to come apart in the finish. I’m surprised to see that people had a higher opinion of this than some of the other porters I’ve had recently. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 20, 2006 12 oz bottle, via slob. Pours a clear reddish brown colored body under a foamy craggy dark brown head one inch in height. Decent retention. Aroma is all chocolate malt with lighter accents of coffee, roast, and a touch of diacetyl. Flavor is a little thin and chalky but some decent cocolate, coffee, and roast notes. Finishes lightly bitter. Mouthfeel is lighter bodied with a slightly chalky texture. Carbonation is moderate and fizzy. A Porter on the lighter side for sure, but it was certainly drinkable. drkilmer (35), Myersville, Maryland, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 17, 2006 Poured a dark brown with ruby highlights. Light brown head dissipated rather quickly. Nice roastinedd and bitterness, but ballanced a little to far to the sweet side for me. Rather clean finish. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA

Very good. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
