| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 2, 2006 Courtesy of Springslicker. Thanks, Jay. Aroma is muted and mostly old book musty and mildly roast/chocolate. Body is a nice looking dark red soldifying to deep brown and even black as it pours, but the head diminishes rapidly-it never really gets formed all the way. Flavor is a decent dollop of chocolate and the beer is amply roasty. The flavor is pretty decent. Body is thin (really thin not the kind of thin Jay says his Coconut Porter is) but the flavor is fairly concentrated and the beer finishes well with a pronounced burnt bitterness. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 25, 2006 Pours a beautiful, deep garnet brown with an average sized tan head that falls quickly.
Weak aroma, a bit of chocolate and some roast, but nothing prominent.
The flavor is lightly sweet, but nothing that shouts Porter here. A bit thin. JB175 (1664), Bucks County, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 10, 2006 Pretty basic porter, decent malt taste with a somewhat unpleasant aftertaste. This one has been sitting in the fridge for awhile, but retains all other fresh beer charachteristics. Plain, boring, but OK after a few others have been downed. zebracakes (1217), Washington DC, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2006 Bottle. Pours dark ruby red, tan head. Aroma is malty, nutty, and earthy. Flavor is nutty, earthy, with notes of molasses and coffee. I think Frederick Brewing Co.s porter is a wee bit better than their Oatmeal Stout. eboats (901), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

Aroma was a medium strength coffee, some soil, and a hint of chocolate. Flavor was earthy, bitter, dry coffee, buttery chocolate. Dry finish. GeneralGao (3076), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 30, 2006 12 oz bottle. Clear dark brown color with foamy tan head that laced the glass. Nose is chalky and a bit roasty with a touch of chocolate. Very dry and roasty like weak coffee. Body is light without being unpleasantly watery. What can you say, its a dry, roasty porter. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 27, 2006 Smoke, coffee, molasses, roasted toffee, chocolate, and espresso intermingle nicely in this, the best of the Wild Goose beers, I think. A touch too thin and watery, but not offensively so. Perfectly happy calling this a sessionable porter. oldrtybastrd (1846), Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA
