Dark brown color, with a umber hue that shows through the light. Smallish, diminishing tan head. Mild sweet coffee aromas, with a touch of pumpernickel. Smooth and creamy, but still seems rather thin in feel. Light sweet start with a touch of vanilla. Middle is dry and lifeless with a white bread flavor. Nice black malt and rye finish. Seems to get thicker as the glass goes down. Quite true to style brew.

12 oz bottle Pours a deep ruby red almost black with a light brown head. Good lacing and a kind of rocky. Aroma is of roasted chocolate maltswith a touch of grapes and raisins. Taste is a rather bland porter. Not real good or bad. Has a nutty flavor with decent aftertaste. This one is sot of plain jane but drinkable.

The aroma of this beer hits the nose with a combination of smoke, vanilla, and oats. It is deep brown in color with a good thick head. This thin beer enters the mouth smoky then turns to a burnt caramel taste that fades leaving a smoky taste lingering in the throat for a short while.

Dark brown hue with aromas of roasted coffee and caramel malts. Flavors are of smooth toasty malts, dark and milk chocolates, dark fruits and well-balanced hop flavors striking out on the finish. Very drinkable and smooth.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a off-white head that diminished slowly with sparce lacing. Medium roasted malt aroma. Medium to full body. Medium sweet coffee and chocolate flavor with small bitter finish. Good brew.

pretty groovy stuff. kInda sweet taste to it. Texture was almost silky, roast aroma to it. A nice complitment to my burger and fries.

Aroma of slight roast, intense caramel. Nicely bitter. Good taste. However, too thin. Also, a root-beer like flavour surfaces, which is odd and undesireable. Altogether this beer makes a better first impression than a lasting one. The thinness really must be addressed. The finish is a little bit dry, which I like, but it is too bland--this beer hits your tongue with a burst of flavour, but leaves an emptiness in your mouth.

bottle-pours browin with a mahogony tinge under high amounts of lighting. small eggshell head present. chocolate and motor oil in the aromas. burnt char, coffee, chocolate and a considerable amount of oxidization are present here. palate is a little thin as well. some roast in the finsih followed by a wallop of oxidization. again, i must reviist this beer in a fresh state!
