Commercial Description:
Appearing almost black at first glance, Wild Goose Porter is actually a deep ruby-red ale. Roasted malt flavors accent its velvety finish.

A red-brown beer with an OK brown head. The aroma is quite light, what is there is sweet with notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet with light notes of chocolate, and with a good hop bitterness to balance the sweetness. The body is quite light, so it reminds me mostly of an English style Porter.

Nice dark-brown body with small tan head. Aroma is coffee, medium sweet. Taste is coffee-chocolate malty, medium sweet, with mild bitterness in finish. Palate is creamy, and fairly thick for a porter.

Bottle: Transparent dark mahogany brown with a thin-lacing wispy light tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and chocolate with a touch of smoke. Starts with a fairly-full dark caramely maltiness with some bittering hops and roasted presence. Finishes smooth and milk chocolatey. A pretty good porter.

Lovely, sparkling clear ruby-colored beer. Large, rocky, khaki-colored head. Excellent, thick, cascading lacework. Interwoven coffee, chocolate and vanilla aromas. Bold taste. Very well-bittered to balance out the chewy, roasted malt. Strong coffee on the tongue and in the throat. Some pungent hops thrown in the batch as well. I also detect some smoky undertones. Full-bodied with a silky mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. Short, toasted, dry finish. Very satisfying! There's a lot going on in this brew!

Bottle courtesy of Dorwart. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Smells vegetal with some chocolate and spice. Tastes of chocolate with some underlying spice, but it’s hard to get past the grassy quality this beer seems to possess.

Dark brown color, with a umber hue that shows through the light. Smallish, diminishing tan head. Mild sweet coffee aromas, with a touch of pumpernickel. Smooth and creamy, but still seems rather thin in feel. Light sweet start with a touch of vanilla. Middle is dry and lifeless with a white bread flavor. Nice black malt and rye finish. Seems to get thicker as the glass goes down. Quite true to style brew.

Bottle@Home. Chocolate and coffee aroma. Very dark ruby, light brown head, very nice lace. Light sweet, pretty malty, chocolate, coffee, bitter. Very flavorful.
