Commercial Description:
This frothy ale is made with 9 different specialty malts, 100% English Fuggle hops, and nearly 300 pounds of real pumpkin. During and after the boil, we add a subtle blend of fresh-ground spices, resulting in a very smooth and malty, complex ale with noble hop and spice aroma. We hope you will get a chance to enjoy this limited offering, and no, it’s not just a glass of grandma’s pumpkin pie, it’s still a beer.

Bottle Pours a lightly hazy amber, with a thin quickly deminishing off white head. Lacing is quite thin. Has a good aroma of pumpkin and spices. Has decent carbonation. The flavor is good but has a touch of blandness. Has all the seasonal spiciness but lacks some depth. That being said this is very tasty. Has a watery texture. Has a medium body. The finish and aftertaste are good. Definately and seasonal to try.

Savannah, Ga. Habersham Beverage Warehouse - 12 pk - part of variety 12 pack. Bright copper pour, long lasting, sticky white head. Hint of sweet spices in the aroma, not unpleasant, hints of fresh lake water. Flavor has some of the same sweet spicy elements, nutmeg comes to mind. Some pumpkin is noted in there as well. Mouthfeel is pleasantly sticky and thick enough. Not a bad pumpkin ale - a selection that is beginning to get a bit overwrought, but his one sits right.

Bottle on 09/27/2008 from Once Upon A Vine - South. Clear copper amber body with a medium creamy off-white head. Big pumpkin aroma with some light nutmeg and allspice. More allspice and pumpkin flavor, light nutmeg lingering behind. Medium body with moderate carbonation.

12 ounce bottle from Total Wine in Richmond, VA. Pours a clear reddish orange color with not much of an attempt at a head. Aroma is mainly pumpkin spice with some light pumpkin notes. Taste is straight up pumpkin spice with some malty notes. Bitter finish, but otherwise a bit too much on the sweet side. Thin bodied. Drinkable and fairly pleasant, but also boring and uncomplex.

Bottle pours an amber body with no head. Sweet sticky malty body. Light pumpkin cinnamon flavor. Hints of spice with no etoh or hops.

This was a very easily drinkable ale with a nice spicy aroma. The pumpkin is not as noticeable as I was hoping, but you did get the freshness of some spicy pumpkin pie flavor in the palate. Beautifal balance between the malt flavor and the alcohol. Appearance could have been better as this was a slighly cloudy amber brew with little to no lacing. Wanted to get the richness of the foam but it was inconsistent.

I was skeptical about this beer since a friend had to choke down his batch of pumpkin ale a few years back, but I really enjoyed this beer. Pours a light amber color, nice thick head. Taste is smooth, almost creamy, and the finish is slightly hoppy but offset with some decent malty spice. Takes 1 or 2 to get used to, but once I drank a few I wanted more.

Not bad. Spice aroma with malts, hops, and spice-cinnamon and ginger-on the tongue. Big thick head. Some carbonation.
