Commercial Description:
This frothy ale is made with 9 different specialty malts, 100% English Fuggle hops, and nearly 300 pounds of real pumpkin. During and after the boil, we add a subtle blend of fresh-ground spices, resulting in a very smooth and malty, complex ale with noble hop and spice aroma. We hope you will get a chance to enjoy this limited offering, and no, it’s not just a glass of grandma’s pumpkin pie, it’s still a beer.

Got this one from the wildgoose variety pack. Aside form the porter, this was my favorite, because unlike some pumpkin beers which only have a hint of spice, this one tasted like drinking a slice of pumpkin pie.. delicious!

Being the 13th serving does not prove an unlucky slot for this one. As so often happens with pumpkin ales, the spices dominate the spectrum of flavor regardless of how much effort the brewmaster may have put into the overall quality of the brew. This one is heavy with nutmeg and clove. There’s some mellow pumpkin in here as well. Flavorful, drinkable, and reminiscent of autumn days past.

12 oz. bottle. Orangey body with medium white head. Interesting aroma of pumpkin pie. Taste similar, pumpkin pie spice overlaying a fairly ordinary beer. Decent, but not great.

faint pumpkin spice aroma, body seems a bit watery and thin. Slight hint of pumpkin taste, mosty spice. Has a bitter spice aftertaste. Needs more taste in my opinion, but not all that bad.

Bottle (thanks argo0). Amber appearance with a small head. Pumpkin spices are very prevalent in aroma. Flavor is sweet and spicy, with a slight watery aftertaste. It could use a little more malt, and a little more of certain spices to give it a little better bitterness.

Bottle provided by Aaron and enjoyed in NB Worthy glassware: Clean coppery hue with a small fizzy head and some lace. The aroma is nutmeg, cinnamon, clove, allspice, pumpkin meat, vinous noble rot wine, and a touch of raisin nut bread. The taste follows suit but lucky not to overpower the palate. That said, there still is not much hops or even malt character beyond a basic bready and grainy nature. An interesting acidic twang (apple?) does give this brew a chance of not becoming cloy. While the feel is watery and fizzy, I think anything heavier would have made the beer undrinkable. I shockingly enjoyed this and I don’t really care much for Pumpkin brews.

Pumpkins are silly. This is a silly beer which is very light in flavor and palate, but has a very nice closing spiciness. Quite drinkable, but stupid, nevertheless.

Authentic pumpkin and some spice aroma. Pours orangish. Good pumpkin flavor with subtle spiciness.
