12 oz bottle purchased at Frugal MacDoogal’s in Nashville. Poured a dark brown color, kind of like a coke, with a two finger tan head. The aroma nuts and sweet malt. The flavor is heavy with caramel and toasted bread. The palate was average, with a medium/full body, mild carbonation and a chewy mouthfeel. I was pleased with this beer.

Sweet and malt aroma. Heavy body, with some hop and leaf flavor. Some caramel and fruit. Nothing big to stand out from this beer.

A simple, but rather effective aspiring winter warmer that remains simple enough, but works with thickish, bready malts. heavy bodied, honeyed flavours. Woodsy, mildly hoppy and leafy conclusion manages to cut through the caramel toastiness with efficiency. Not captivating, but a competent ale.

Bottle received via locals trade with mwelsh13. Pour had an insane amount of carbonation! Even pouring at a snails place there was tons of foam, but once the foam settled, what remained was a nice copper colored brew. Aroma of rich malts and molasses. Flavor was peppery, spicy, and finished a little sweet (cinnamon/sugar?) Tasty brew!

My Bottom Line:
This English-style Strong Ale relies on its generous caramel and toasted malts to satisfy the winter session drinker, before leafy hop bitterness attempts to seal the finish.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slim veil of foam sits atop the dark copper.
-Balanced is not really achieved; this is a malty session of a winter warmer.
-Some nuttiness is tasted within the malt flavors.
-Hops are few and far between; I would have liked a tad more bite in the flavor profile.
-The body is round and pleasant.

Bottle.

The aroma is sweet and malty with a strong yeast factor that is like butterscotch lotion and dark fruit. The appearance is amber with a smaller sized head. The flavor is bread like with butter brown sugar, malt, and some hop bitterness. The palate is typical for the style. Overall an enjoyable beer.

12oz bottle. Pours a lacing tan head with a red body. Smells of caramel, bread, and dried fruit. Tastes of dried fruit like fig and bread, caramel, and apricot. Little bit of a bitter finish. Reminds me of a high grav.

Poured a clear dark amber color with a tall tan creamy head. The head reduced fairly quickly to and 1/4", but still left a little lacing. There was a faint scent of alcohol in the aroma along with a hint of chocolate. The initial taste was of chocolate and rolled into a slightly dry bite. There was a good warmth on the finish.
