Poured a clear deep copper color. Mild citrusy hop aroma with a large malty base. Sweet caramel and nutty. The flavor was malty sweet with an little hop. Mildly bitter dry finish.

Jan. 2007 - Beer poured dark brown, chocolate aroma with HUGE head...it took 10 minutes to split the bomber into two glasses. Big pillowy head that left a nice foam even until the last foamy sip. Nice lacing. About as good as it gets. Rich full roasty flavor with chocolate and milky/lactic hints at the end. Some bitterness from hops. Very tasty.

Bottle. Dark copper body with a creamy off-white head. The aroma has some licorice, caramel, and sugar. Medium bodied with sweet caramel flavours and some hop chewiness. Better than the other Wild Goose beers I’ve had but still a bit weak in many aspects.

pours a clear ruby-copper with a tan head. aroma is bready with some clove, spice, caramel, and mild hops. taste is a little citrusy with some spice notes, bread, and malt. a nice bitter finish. mid-full bodied with a foamy mouthfeel. i like the bitter end of this one, it really sticks with you for a while. overall not a bad brew, but i agree with some previous reviewers in that it could be stepped up a notch in the flavor department. the notes are there, they just don’t shine through as well as i’d like. not bad though.

Pours a dark brown with a small tannish head. Mild nose with wood and caramel tones. Flavor is nice, but seems to lack a good enough balance to knock it up a bit more. Has a slight tangy edge that is just a touch too much for me. Feel is nice with the carbonation. This is a nice drinker. Went well with my homemade gumbo.

Thanks go Bigern for the bonus. 12 oz bottle before super bowl. Aroma picked up spotty malts and grain. Flavor had robust caramel malt at the core with a bready grain type follow through. A touch of woody grass in the finish. Fairly thin and watery. But enjoyable nonetheless.

Bottle. Dark brown pour with a frothy almond colored head. Spotty lacing. Rich malty aroma--sweet grain/granola with molasses and a bit of chocolate. Basic malty sweetness in the flavor, molasses generally, but a bit grainy and husky with some earth and wood notes. Sweetness cut at the end by a roasty dryness. OK.

Pours a cola color with almost no head or carbonation. Lots of reddish light comes through. Aroma is subtly fruity and sugary. This is a very malty beer and is surprisingly bitter and dry. This is not a complex brew and not a particularly flavorful one, either. There are better examples of the style.
