DA (2376), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Jun 15, 2008 Citrus hops shine through a big grapefruit finish. Very floral and crisp. Very nice IPA that didn’t totally trash the taste buds with bitterness. raphael (256), Portland, Oregon, USA Apr 9, 2008 on tap. fresh hop aroma, a little citrus, a little woody, medium amber with a slight haze, solid off white head. Big taste, the bitterness increases but stays fairly balanced, god bite, just a couple moments of metallic pnista (884), Bloomington, Indiana, USA Apr 8, 2008 On tap. Pours a straw golden yellow with a warmish hue and a decent enough head. The nose is full of columbus chinook cascase hops. Low malt profile, but not lacking in malt. Lightly fruity, mostly floral resin. The mouthfeel is fuller than thin, but not much more so than average. Bright sharp hop flavor. Refreshing and crisp. The malt is generally subdued, but lightly sweet enough to carry the hops and provide a little bit of subtle fruitiness. The flavors are nicely married. This is a lovely beer that’s more like a big old ass pale ale than a really bitter bracing IPA, but that’s not a bad thing in my book, hell, I’d say it’s even a plus given all the mediocre pales out there. Treephiend (57), Walla Walla, Washington, USA Mar 6, 2008 Draft at The Victory in SE Portland, OR pours a golden amber with a bit of an off white head. Huge hops taste, piney and citrusy with a good balance of malt sweetness. One of the better IPAs I’ve come across to be honest. jake65 (1216), Meridian, Idaho, USA Feb 13, 2008 Draft @ KLCC Microbrew Festival: Pours a bright copper with a large white head. Aroma is citrus and floral hops with plenty of grapefruit sweetness. Flavor is balanced by some caramel and maltiness into the citrus hops. Good.
