50cl dark brown bottle, label as shown. Pours a nicely deep, clear darker mahogany (unusual for a beer classified here as a "bitter") with a smallish beige head. Limited retention, generous lacing. Light- to medium body, rather thin, watery - but also earthy - mouth feel. Moderate to low carbonation. Aroma of toasted malt, nuts and coffee. A light note of hops. Taste is dominanted by roasted malt, with a bread-, a chocolate- and a coffee note all present. Finish is indeed best-bitterish, with a dry, bitter after taste. Doesn’t look like a regular bitter, taste a bit more like one though. This is a "Scottish ale" (commercial description) that comes close to a German/Czech schwarzbier - dark-coloured, malty, but rather light and thin in texture. Not for fans of either regular Scottish ales, bitters nor porters nor stouts. But no all that bad.

(cask) Small beige head atop clear copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, caramel, some earthy, bread, light raisin, faint smoke. Taste is medium sweet, caramel, some strawberry/raisin, light earthy/floral. Soft, light body, very easy to drink.

Bottle. Very dark red, lovely aroma of raisins and other dried fruit. Some nice spices - nutmeg and pepper. Fne balance, sweet and sour. A bit thin, perhaps, but it’s a very decent session beer. Long finish. I’d like to have one of the Norwegian macros make a Christmas beer like this!

Bottled. A deep red beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of dusty hops, malt, caramel, and some fruits. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, caramel, and some spices, leading to a dry spicy finish, where also a note of nuts appears. The alcohol tickles the tongue. Thanks yespr for sharing.

50 cL bottle. Pours hazy dark brown with a huge, creamy and tan head. Aroma is mild roasted and slight breadish. Sweet caramelish and slight breadish malt flavoured. Sweet roasted breadish malt flavoured finish - could counterbalance from the hops.
