Nov 30, 2006 Brown/black pour with a reasonable cap of tan. Lovely dark toasty aroma, a little butter, a little caramel. Soft chocolate flavor, a little earthy. Body is distinctly thin. Which is too bad. Really distracts from an otherwise pleasant ale.

Nov 25, 2006 Pours almost completely black with thin red sides. Thin fizzy brownish head. Aroma is full with chocolate, roasted malts and a slight smokyness. At first it doesn’t give you many flavours - having a slightly thin mouthfeel. Then roastiness and last chocolate flavours take over.

Nov 24, 2006 Bottle. Pours a clear very dark brown, nearly black, with tan fluffy head. Toasted malts and espresso notes, slightly sweet and slightly bitter in the nose. Flavour is watery and disappointing, bitterish coffee malt and hops. Lasting malty gentle bitterness. From the aroma, I expected a lot more.

Jun 29, 2006 Bottle. Malty, liquoricy aroma. Black colour, small light brown head.The flavour is nice, roasted and pleasant. The same goes for the aftertaste which also has some liquorice.
