Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered.
A rich dark ale, dominated by the strong flavours of blended roast malts that are the foundation of this beer. Smooth coffee and chocolate undertones are complemented by the addition of late harvest cone hops, giving a lovely blackcurrant aroma.

50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a rim of an orange glare. Slowly collapsing light tan head. Chocolate and roasted malt aroma. Light body. Flavour is roasted and light acidic. Mild smoothness from the chocolate yet nothing that gives any body nor takes out the roasted notes into a decent balance. A bit thin and plain roasted, yet still a nice beer.

Dark ruby brown with a lasting off-white head. Dark toffee aroma with some cream coffee. Dry roast flavour with a chocolate note. Burnt charcoal finish. Not exactly a classic porter, and the roastedness is a bit one dimensional for my taste, but it’s a fine session stout.

Bottle. As expected, it pours a clear, dark brown body under a beige head. Pleasant, roasted nose with chocolate, coffee and mocha. Roasted, slightly porter-sour flavor with chocolate, mocha and a little hoppy bitterness. The finish has some of the same sourness, as well as chocolate. Medium body. Quite pleasant and easy drinkable. (080215)

from crackedkettle.com - very dark brown colour, no foam left; decently roasted with notes of blackcurrant and raisins; solid carbonation and a moderate malt body; decent bitterness and a long aftertaste of ashes and blackcurrant - subtle and complex
