Lovely colour. Translucent black ruby colour. Shame the head is poor but such a great colour. Its more like a milk stout in the mouth. Roasty coffee but a very milky coffee. Malt up front giving way to a restrained bitterness. Bit more milk for the finish. Nothing overly exciting but enjoyable enough. erway (1002), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Dec 31, 2006 Pours a deep brown bordering on black with a diminishing off-white head. Aroma is indistinct with notes of coffee and hazelnuts. The body is med.-light and they fizzy. Flavor is soo lacking it makes me want to cry. No chocolate, some coffee, not nuttiness. Finish is dry but completly lacking in bitterness. What a completly dissapointing beer. rauchbier (3000), Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, England

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 27, 2006 Bottled. Strong aroma of black currant and chocolate. Black color, beige head, good lace. Light sweet, chocolate, bitter (especially rosted bitter towards the finish), coffee in the end. Light, dusty, roasted dry. Well balanced and good brew. jerohen (1613), Bussum, Netherlands
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 16, 2006 Bottled. Very dark brown coloured, thin brown head. Roasted malty nose, liquorice, coffee and chocolate. Very sweet flavour, some berries. Thick mouthfeel. In between a porter and a sweet stout if you ask me. I have no idea how this beer ended up in my cellar, but nonetheless i really enjoyed it. hughie (3056), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 1, 2006 Dark Brown. Fruit and malt aroma. Liquorice, ash and coffee taste. Late bitterness. Decent porter. Doppelganger (1353), Dry County, Arkansas, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Nov 30, 2006 Brown/black pour with a reasonable cap of tan. Lovely dark toasty aroma, a little butter, a little caramel. Soft chocolate flavor, a little earthy. Body is distinctly thin. Which is too bad. Really distracts from an otherwise pleasant ale. thewolf (5744), Kolding, Denmark
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 25, 2006 Pours almost completely black with thin red sides. Thin fizzy brownish head. Aroma is full with chocolate, roasted malts and a slight smokyness. At first it doesn’t give you many flavours - having a slightly thin mouthfeel. Then roastiness and last chocolate flavours take over.
