Bottle. This brewery consistently produces lovely bottle beers. This is no exception.Clear and dry with a sharp taste.A medium body makes drinking very easy. This is a rarity-an excellent British lager.

Bottle from Sainsburys, Kidlington, consumed 26-08-09 Pours gold with white thin head. Slightly unusual taste bit curly in the mouth and an interesting combination of flavour’s, some lagery malt’s, are the hops Saaz?. Tastes pretty good, touch dry at times but in saying that there is a steady sweetness that carries through this beer. A6 A4 F7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Has a very nutty aroma with a bit of alcohol, a pretty unique smell. Looks pretty good with a nice head that’s solid and respectable, lighter golden colour. Taste is of wood and nuts, some bitter grains, and has a nice smooth mouthfeel. Pretty good and pretty unique, maybe a little drier finish would have been better.

50cl bottle, label as shown. Pours a wee-hazy straw yellow golden with a big, creamy white head. Aroma of citrus fruit, hops and yeast. Light-bodied blonde with fairly active carbonation. Earthy mouth feel. Strong lemon-y notes are an indication of a higher-than-usual amount of hops (for a lager anyway). Sweet malts are also a strong force in this rather earthy blonde, which gets more bitter towards the middle and has an agreeably dry finish. Lingering mildly bitter after taste. Some herbaceous notes in the mix keep things interesting. All in all this is a rather unusual lager, certainly less bland than many. That said,. I think you should try a single at first to see if this is what you think a lager should taste like. Coming from the Williams Brewery, I am not surprised it reminds me of one of their traditional Scottish herbal ales more than it does of a continental light blond beer. Intriguing.

Bottle. Golden with a thin white head. Aromas are caramel with dried apricot. Quite fruity. Flavours are sweet lemon marmalade with dry biscuit malts. Spritzy, fresh and hoppy with sweet hops on the finish.

Bottle. JHB pale under a fine disc of suds, aroma swaying alluringly between satsuma, peanut butter, lime, Munich hay, biscuit and honey; strong lager crushed almond and grass cutting sweetness. Unbland and balanced; clean biscuity freshness, hay, honey spearmint herbal touches, satsuma hop sweetness, grass, almond, a gob of Special Brew. Mixed up enjoyable lager like a Munich helles brewed with US hops. Could’ve gone horribly wrong, but didn’t.

Bottle from Sainsburys, wasn’t expecting much but it was pretty tasty. Pale gold with a white head. Malts, little fruitiness, small hoppage, touch of sweet vanilla, some citrus. Nice for a pale lager.
