Murky ruddy body, small light tan head. Citrus and pine hop aroma, complemented by some tropical fruits. Decent though not great citurs and pine bitter hoppiness. More earthy flavors than the aroma would suggest. Caramel flavors round things out making it enjoyable.

Pours copper with a thin white head. Aroma is sweet and citrussy. Tastes bitter and citrussy with a sweet malty finish.

Off taps at Capital Ale House. Floral citrusy hop aroma with some carmelized malt aroma. Mostly clear orange amber with small white head. Big floral spicey hop flavor backed by moderate carmelized malt sweetness. Medium body with a fruity spicey finish. Very good.

Eaglefan538 shared this brew with me. Bottle 1811/2007. Floral, caramel and barley oat aroma. Cloudy orange color with good head. Sticky sugary fruit flavor. Also plenty of malt that took away from the bitter you get from double IPA’s. Thicker malted body I thought it was a barleywine instead of an ipa. Thanks Brian

Bottle from CaptainCougar, shared w/ Bockyhorsey. Bottle 1811/2007. The pour featured a huge peachy amber colored head, great retention. The body was full orangey cloudy in color. The aroma was caramel, big caramel malts, citrus and pine. The flavor followed, alcohol pretty smooth, tons of malt, flavors bordering on tea bags and brown sugar, lots ’o malt! Big mouthfeel. This thing was pretty close to being a barleywine in character. Thanks for the bottle, Tom!

Bottle 393 of 2007. Pours an opaque caramel with a good tan head. Aroma is deceptively malty. Flavor is also tends toward the malty, but with distinct hop bitterness in the finish. Medium full body with moderately low carbonation. Hop profile has definitely mellowed since last year, but I believe it is even more enjoyable now.
