Peregrinari (49), Washington, Washington DC, USA Apr 2, 2008 Sweet somewhat out of whack flavor. I feel as though it is not particularly balanced. Malty somewhat flat flavor with roasted notes. Finish is long long long and leaves a sour flavor in the back of my palate. Not my favorite.
Saarlander (1454), The Saarland, Germany Aug 20, 2008 Bottle from Immy, Thanks! A malty brew, poured dark Brown, slight head, abit sour, caramel flavor, abit mixed up, but not a bad brew at all! Thanks Tim! jcwattsrugger (3942), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Aug 11, 2008 12 oz bottle courtesy of dkachur-pours a rich light tan head with amber color. Aroma is light/medium malt-cocoa/peat, slight sweetness. Taste is light/medium malt-cocoa/peat (English), slight sweetness. At the finish a slight hint of hops, yeast (&diacytl?). Minimum carbonation. An easy Mild. nuplastikk (427), Maryland, USA Aug 4, 2008 12oz bottle. Thick amber-brown color. Very thick bodied, with a strong, pungent amber malt taste. Delicately hopped, allowing the malt to take center stage. The sourness in the beer is very enjoyable and complex. Good example of a malty American Amber Ale. MaltDawg (289), Richmond, Virginia, USA Aug 1, 2008 12 oz bottle from local Farm Fresh. Slight carmelized malt nose with a touch of earthy grassy hops and some fruity sourness. Mostly clear deep amber brown with a moderate rocky tan head. Grain with light carmelized malts and grassy hops dominate flavor. There is some other stuff going on that is a touch sour, fruity, cardboardy, and soapy. Body is light with high carbonation. Finish is dry with a lingering grassy bitter astringency. phishpond417 (1418), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Jul 28, 2008 Pours a dark red colour with a medium sized almond coloured head. Aroma is pleasent, cherries, red licorice and slightly grassy notes. Taste is pleasent, rich, with a generous amount of caramel malts and soft hop finish.
